50 First Dates

Shot in the beautiful island of Hawaii, 50 First Dates is another one of Adam Sandler’s romantic offerings. It has also become popular because of its reggae theme song Hold Me Now performed by Wayne Wonder. In this movie, Adam Sandler finely explores both worlds of slapstick comedy and romance. Why slapstick comedy? Simply because the plot is ridiculous enough, there has to be something to save it. Adam Sandler’s girlfriend in the movie (played by Drew Barrymore) suffers from short term memory loss every time she wakes up. Yes folks, that’s every single day that she wakes up. That’s what makes all the movie scenes hilarious because Henry Roth(Adam Sandler) has to court Lucy Whitmore(Drew Barrymore) every morning after. But don’t worry, the short term memory loss portrayed in the movie doesn’t exist in real life medical conditions or does it?) hmmmm…. Still, this movie will make every girl on the planet crush and crumble (not literally though). The plot may be silly, but in an imaginary world, this can be viable and super romantic. Imagine a guy wooing a girl everyday of his life? Even I would want to be that girl.
