June 2nd, 2007 — CGI Films, Tom Hanks Movies, Fantasy, 2004 Movies
Chris Van Allsburg authored this wonderful book more than 2 decades ago, and it just goes to show that something really wonderful is never really outgrown by many. This is his legacy for the coming generations to enjoy. The power of imagination is endless, especially for kids. Come aboard the Polar Express, be elated, delighted, and enjoy the amazing artistry. It wouldn’t really hurt to buy the DVD, you won’t regret it. It can pretty much be a treasure to keep.

Trivia: This was the first mainstream film to be simultaneously released as a 3D IMAX presentation
Plot Outline: On Christmas Eve, a doubting boy boards a magical train that’s headed to the North Pole and Santa Claus’s home.
The tagline says “Journey Beyond Your Imaginationâ€â€¦well, damn right it is! This movie definitely came right on time during the holiday season of 2004, therefore it was rightfully dubbed as the holiday film event of the year.

The Green Mile is excruciatingly more than three hours long. It is intentionally made that way by the director not to bore us but so we can relate how excruciatingly long the characters are in walking through the green mile. The Green Mile mentioned in the movie is actually the path where a death row inmate must walk from his cell to the execution chamber (which is colored green.) It also represents “the long green mile of life†that Tom Hanks’s character must undergo as a punishment for executing a wrongly convicted man. (Tom Hanks’s character is already 104 years old in the last scenes of the movie; he has witnessed the deaths of so many loved ones and has longed wishing for his own to come.)
May 18th, 2007 — Fantasy, 2006 Movies, Comedy Flicks, Adam Sandler Movies
This movie is a departure from the kind of Adam Sandler that we usually see i.e. being a lone father, or pathetic lover, or someone locked up for a very obscure offense. We see an Adam Sandler here in his usual raw comedic self. Here, he plays one bored middle-class family man who wants to skip through the daily sufferings of life and accidentally discovers a so-called universal remote that can make him fast-forward or rewind his life whenever and wherever he wants to, among other things. There was one hilarious scene in this movie when he clicked the remote control of life into slow-mo while a woman with considerable cleavage passes by.
Â

I must admit, even if this universal remote thingy is far from happening in real life, I can truly say that this movie makes so much sense, and that there is a very valuable lesson towards the end. You will realize what really matters most in life. It’s definitely a good watch, I’d rate it a 10.
